5Pin Media proudly presents Bass Line Sequences Volume 2 tailor made for Minimal Techno, Hypnotic Techno, Deep Tech and Tech House.
For the sequel we fired up 10 of our prized analog bass synths, of which the MonoPoly is an exciting new addition as well as a gnarly Doepfer WASP filter to bring you a diverse sound pallet with spades of character that range from minimal, percussive, classic acid to downright unruly.
A special mention also for the Polygogo Eurorack Module that features prominantly serving up some unique tones that we just can’t get enough of.
This collection has less of the multiple tone versions featured in Bass Line Sequences Vol. 1 and focuses more on pattern variations however there is still plenty tonal variation to build ever evolving bass lines.
Combine darker versions of a pattern by applying a Low Pass Filter to give a Sub Bass part with a more brighter aggressive version on top with a High Pass Filter and then crossfade with another tonally different version. Panning differing versions opposite to one another (with a High Pass Filter applied) creates a thick wide top layer with a subtle chorus depending on how much they vary. Once you embark on combining the different variations in this manner new ideas are likely to follow and the loops take on a new dimension. Bass Line Sequences Volume 2.
Re-Sequence the patterns by slicing and triggering the slices via MIDI resulting in a completely new pattern that can be as dense or sparse as you want. This is by far the most inspirational and powerful technique for maximising the potential of these bass line loops.
The majority of the loops are dry with a corresponding processed version. The processing was achieved by feeding the signal through our outboard rack of Elysia Karacter, Xpressor and Xfilter effects to distort and thicken. The dry/processed loops are best for achieving the above described composite loops and effects such as reverb or delay can be applied after to taste depending on the style and context.

The soul and essence of the analog machines has been captured across 395 loops @ 126, 127, 128, 130 and 132bpms, WAV and Apple formats included with corresponding MIDI loops for the majority of the patterns.
The 121 MIDI loops are available in both “standard” and “303 format” for correct note lengths, slides and accents. The note velocities have also been optimised for reliable playing of any other MIDI bass instrument including soft synths such as ABL2 by Audiorealism and Phoscyon by d16 as well as hardware synths such as the X0X Box, TD-3 and TT303.
Please note that the MIDI from this product is compatible with our 5Pin Media “MIDI Focus – Bass Line” and “Bass Line – The Sequel” products and vice-versa.
As a bonus we have also included all the non-bass elements from the demo totalling 60 loops taken from the following 5Pin sample packs:
